Contract Vote Info & Membership Meeting

Local 96 will hold a membership meeting to review the Tentative Agreement on Tuesday at 6pm. Voting on the contract will begin immediately after the meeting on Tuesday night and be conducted online and by phone through Ballot Point. 

The entire proposed contract is posted on the website, so that members have a chance to review the Tentative Agreement before voting on it. 

Preparing for Contract Vote-June 2021

The Bargaining Committee is reviewing and finalizing the proposed contract language for a vote by the membership.

The contract vote will be conducted electronically. You will get a complete copy of the proposed contract and we will hold a CAT team meeting and a membership meeting before the contract vote.

Tentative Agreement Reached on New Contract

Tonight, your Bargaining Committee reached a tentative agreement with AltaGas negotiators on a new contract that addresses our priority issues, including raises and healthcare. All employees should report to work as scheduled while we prepare for the contract vote.

Contract Update - May 29, 2021

Negotiations continued today. Your Bargaining Committee is doing everything we can to reach an agreement on a contract that addresses members' needs, including fair wage increases and quality, affordable healthcare. We are not there yet.

After today's overwhelming strike authorization vote, your Bargaining Committee made progress in negotiations. We are working hard to try to reach an agreement that addresses members’ needs on our priority issues, including pay and healthcare.

Members Overwhelmingly Vote To Authorize Strike

Teamsters at Washington Gas have voted by 97 percent to authorize a strike. With 80 percent of the membership voting, the count was 462-13 in favor of authorizing a strike.

Contract Update - May 25, 2021

We came very close to reaching an agreement on a new contract today. But management made that impossible by demanding that we choose between a lowball wage offer or healthcare cuts. As a result, we will be proceeding with a strike authorization vote on Wednesday and Thursday. 

Strike Authorization Vote - When & Where To Vote

This Wednesday May 26th and Thursday, May 27th, Local 96 members will take a Strike Authorization Vote at each station.

Report to your station for voting at least 30 minutes before your start time.

*Ballot boxes will close on Thursday at 7:30AM sharp for counting, there will be no late voting.
